유명인들이 백업보컬로 참여하며 화제가 되었던
솔로 앨범인 [Pilgrim]을 발표 하였다.
앨범의 수록곡인 'My Father's Eyes'도 굴절 많았던 인생사를
노래로 표현했던 Eric Clapton의 또 하나의 감성적인 곡이다.

아버지 얼굴조차 모른 채 할머니에 의해 자란 Eric Clapton은
아버지를 그리워하며 오직 이미지 혹은 상상에 기대어 만든
'My Father's Eyes'는 챠트 순위에 진입하였고,

1998년도 그래미에서도
'최우수 남자가수' 트로피를 안겨줄 만큼 성공적이었으나,
2000년대 이후부터는 아들을 생각하며 만들었던 노래
'Tears in Heaven'과 더불어
라이브에서 더 이상 연주하지 않는 곡이기도 하다.
